Multi-DayAll In(clusive)Tours
Thoughtfully paced travel — no driving, no logistics, no stress
Exploring Nova Scotia should feel enjoyable, not overwhelming.
Multi-day, all inclusive travel with Alternative Routes isn’t about being herded onto a bus or sticking to a rigid schedule. It’s about taking care of the logistics — transportation, planning, and local connections — so you can actually enjoy the experience of travelling here.
We built this for people who want to explore Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island without renting a car, without rushing from stop to stop, and without feeling like they’ve signed up for someone else’s idea of a vacation. We handle the complicated parts of multi-day travel — moving between regions, navigating rural areas, carrying luggage or gear — and leave space for the good parts: wandering, lingering, changing plans, and getting to know a place properly.
This approach works especially well for travellers who value flexibility and comfort, whether that means self-guided cyclists looking for transportation and luggage support between routes, visitors who prefer small groups and local insight over fixed itineraries, or seniors who want thoughtful pacing and a bit of extra care without being confined to a big bus. Different travellers, same goal: seeing more, stressing less, and travelling at a human pace.
If you’re looking for a way to travel that feels organized but not over-structured — supported, but never restrictive — this is likely a good fit.
What We Mean by All-Inclusive
“All-inclusive” doesn’t mean rushed schedules, big tour buses, or being marched from place to place.
With AR, it means we take care of the logistics that usually make multi-day travel feel complicated — so you don’t have to.
That includes transportation between regions (no rental cars or unfamiliar driving), carefully chosen places to stay, and small groups where people actually get to know each other. Days are thoughtfully paced, with time to rest, wander, or linger when something catches your attention. And you travel with driver-guides who stay with you, know the route, and know when to let the place speak for itself.
Everything flows together — transportation, lodging, and experiences — so you’re not juggling bookings or wondering what comes next. You just get to travel
What’s Included?
All-inclusive travel with AR is about handling the logistics that usually make multi-day trips feel like work and leaving the rest open.
What’s included will vary depending on your route, but generally covers:
Transportation between regions, with a driver-guide who actually knows the area
Route and itinerary planning, shaped around your pace and interests
Small group travel, so days stay flexible and unhurried
Luggage or gear transfers, including support for cyclists
Local insight, from where to stop, eat, and linger to the stories that give places context
Select accommodations or experiences, when part of your trip, chosen for comfort and character
We don’t pack every day full or rush from highlight to highlight. The goal is simple: make the complicated parts easy, so you can focus on travelling well.
How This Is Different
Most multi day all-inclusive tours are built around fixed schedules, big vehicles, and moving the same group of people through a set list of stops. Ours aren’t.
With AR, most all-inclusive trips are supported by our regular hop-on hop-off routes (with the exception of some dedicated experiences, like our PEI tour). That means travel stays flexible, routes actually make sense, and you’re not locked into a single bus, timetable, or cast of characters for the entire trip.
You travel in small groups, move at a human pace, and often meet different people along the way — which, frankly, is part of the fun. One day you might be swapping recommendations over lunch, the next you’re sharing a scenic drive with someone new. It beats being stuck beside the same three strangers for a week, no matter how nice they are.
Instead of building trips around volume and efficiency, we build them around care: care for our guests, the communities we visit, and the landscapes we move through. It’s guided travel without the feeling of being guided — and for many travellers, that difference is everything.
All-Inclusive & Self-Guided Cycling
Cycling is one of the best ways to experience Atlantic Canada — but the logistics can get complicated quickly. That’s where Alternative Routes comes in.
Self-guided cyclists can choose to book an all-inclusive cycling experience with us, where we take care of transportation between regions, luggage transfers, route planning support, and local insight along the way. It’s a simple, comfortable way to focus on the ride without worrying about how to get from one place to the next.
If you prefer to plan independently, cyclists can also use our hop-on hop-off service to move between towns and regions on their own schedule. It’s a flexible option for multi-day trips, allowing you to build your own route while still travelling without a car.
Both options are designed to support slow, thoughtful travel — whether you’re cycling for a few days or building a longer journey across Nova Scotia or Prince Edward Island.
Who This Works Well For
All-inclusive travel with AR tends to suit travellers who want to go a little deeper — without doing all the planning themselves.
It’s a good fit if you:
want to explore Nova Scotia or PEI without renting a car
are planning a multi-day trip and want the logistics handled
value flexibility over fixed schedules
prefer small groups and personal connection over big tour buses
like the idea of meeting different people along the way, rather than travelling with the same group start to finish
If that sounds like you, you’ll probably feel right at home.
A Different Way to Travel
All-inclusive with AR is about making travel feel easier, more connected, and more human. We take care of the logistics, keep the pace reasonable, and leave room for the moments you didn’t plan.
If you’d like help building an all-inclusive trip, we’re glad to talk it through. If you’d rather plan your own route, our hop-on hop-off service does the same thing — just with fewer decisions made for you.
No rigid schedules. No wrong roads. Just a better way to travel.
